Uplifting and Refreshing Lavender Lime Sugar Scrub DIY Recipe

Hello Summer! With the hot days of summer fast approaching, today we would like to share a beautiful Lavender Lime Sugar Scrub DIY recipe. Sugar is a moisturizing exfoliant and gentler on the skin than salt. With only 4 ingredients, this recipe is not only fun, but easy to make. You will need the following 4 ingredients:

  1. Lavender Essential Oil
  2. Lime Essential Oil
  3. Cold Pressed Coconut Oil
  4. Organic Sugar

Health Benefits of Lavender Oil

Lavender is well known as a sleepy, anxiety reducing oil; but did you know how incredible it is for skin healing and moisturizing? Being that lavender essential oil is skin healing and reduces stress, this sugar scrub mixed with the lime brings together an uplifting, yet soothing mood. Lavender is cell regenerative, meaning it helps slow wrinkle formation and repairs skin damaged by the sun. Our lavender hails from Providence, France and is certified organic. Emotionally balancing lavender is a fantastic oil to use in many DIY recipes, especially ones that help soothe anxieties and heal the skin.

Lime Essential Oil for Immune Support

Lime essential oil is uplifting, refreshing, and an all-around clean, happy oil. Cold pressed from the rinds of limes, our lime essential oil is unsprayed from Italy. The oil holds the beautiful aroma of fresh squeezed limes and brings upon a joyous mood when inhaling deeply. Lime is immune supporting, antibacterial, antiviral, and all around good for the immune system. Lime is an astringent, meaning it is good for acne and soothes overactive skin and hair oil production. Bringing lime into the sugar scrub is certain to uplift, fight fatigue, clear up acne, and help energize for the day ahead.

Exfoliating and Moisturizing Essential Oil Sugar Scrub You Can Make at Home

Melt the coconut oil in a glass Pyrex container if it is not a liquid. Cold pressed coconut oil starts becoming a soft butter at 75 degrees. Add sugar, coconut oil and essential oils drops to a mixing bowl and mix well. Put in a container and use on hands, feet or all over your body. A great way to exfoliate and slough off dead skin while moisturizing too!  I like my sugar scrubs a bit firmer. You can add more coconut oil if you would like a thinner essential oil sugar scrub.

Some Amazing Benefits of Coconut Oil

Coconut oil is an incredible moisturizing carrier oil. We suggest cold pressed, organic coconut oil whenever purchasing this carrier. Fractionated coconut oil does not contain all of the therapeutic benefits of coconut oil. Coconut oil will stay good for 2-3 years if stored properly in a cool place out of sunlight.  Other benefits of coconut oil include:

  • being an antifungal
  • stimulates hair growth
  • good for psoriasis and eczema
  • soothes itchy skin
  • cools sunburns

What are some of your favorite essential oils to make sugar scrubs with? Do you prefer lime, lavender, or like both equally?
