Frankincense & Myrrh

Frankincense and Myrrh essential oils have many similarities. As with most essential oils, when we blend them together the synergy of the oils strengthens the health benefits of each individual essential oil.

Frankincense and Myrrh essential oils come from the resin of the tree. Trees create resin to heal themselves from damage. It’s a hard, thick substance that seals damage and allows the tree to heal itself. In the picture above is frankincense and myrrh resin. The lighter pieces are frankincense and the darker ones are myrrh.

Just as the resin helps heal the tree, it also helps heal human skin. Here is a list of health benefits that frankincense and myrrh share. They blend beautifully together and are both base notes in perfumery. Base notes stay with us for a longer period of time, making them great essential oils to wear for perfume.
